Our Assessment: This Ruger Super Blackhawk is a stunning and collectible tribute to the National Rifle Association, produced as a limited edition “50 of 100 Oregon” revolver in 2014. Chambered in the hard-hitting .44 Magnum and built on Ruger’s robust New Model Super Blackhawk frame, this single-action revolver blends classic western styling with powerful modern performance. What sets this particular revolver apart is its custom titanium nitride finish, jeweled hammer and trigger, and ornate engravings that read “TEACHING FIREARMS EDUCATION & SAFETY SINCE 1871” and “THE SECOND AMENDMENT PROTECTS THE FIRST.” The cylinder features NRA crests, and the engraved wood grips are numbered “50 OF 100 OREGON,” making this an exceptionally rare and eye-catching revolver for collectors and patriots alike. This example is in Excellent overall condition, retaining about 99% of its metal finish. The bore is pristine—bright, with sharp rifling and no visible erosion—earning a 10/10 rating in this writer’s opinion and appearing unfired. The grips are beautifully engraved and unblemished, and the jeweled hammer and trigger add a refined aesthetic to this already striking firearm. There is only faint action wear and a barely visible cylinder turn line. Mechanically, the revolver functions correctly, with a solid lockup and smooth action, aided by a wide Bisley-style hammer spur for improved control.
