Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed serrated blade pinned to the barrel, the rear sight is a square notched blade screwed to the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: This Ruger is equipped with a CTG Crimson Trace two piece textured black synthetic grips. These well preserved lasergrips still function flawlessly. The grips show a couple of light handling marks, they rate in Fine to excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates a 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 98-99% of its metal finish. There is a very faint turn line through the finish on the cylinder. The stainless finish shows a couple of light nicks, scuffs and scratch marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in about Fine to excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions Correctly. The cylinder locks with a little play on each chamber. We did not fire this Revolver. We have cleaned this firearm and performed a mechanic’s check but expect many will want to clean the firearm again depending on their standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This Ruger SP101 includes its original serial matching box, gunlock, test cartridge, manual, original grips, other paperwork and a letter from Ruger confirming this revolver was MANUFACTURED in 2008 in Newport, New Hampshire. This SP101 also includes a Ruger Triple K Brand (made in USA) leather holster with thumb break and a spring stiffened safety strap for secure carrying.
Our Assessment: The Ruger SP101 revolver MANUFACTURED by Sturm, Ruger & Co. It was first introduced in 1989 as the smaller-frame counterpart to the GP100. This SP101 is a small frame, double-action revolver designed for concealed carry and personal defense. The SP101 is chambered in various calibers, including .22LR, .327 Federal Magnum, .38 Special, and .357 Magnum. The SP101 typically has a barrel length of 2.25 inches, although longer barrel options are available. It uses a swing-out cylinder design, allowing for easy loading and unloading of cartridges. The SP101 features a robust stainless steel frame, providing durability and resistance to corrosion. The frame design incorporates a solid sidewall construction, enhancing strength and reducing recoil.This example was MANUFACTURED in 2008 and is in great shape, showing light use. This 6 Shot SP101 model 05759 is chambered for .327 Federal Magnum and comes equipped with Crimson Trace Lasergrips. The SP101 is Ruger’s small-frame revolver and was their only competition with the similar offerings of Smith & Wesson and Colt until the introduction of the LCR. The SP101 has an all-steel frame and tends to have a slightly longer grip, making shooting such a compact revolver quite comfortable. This SP101 has a great bore, very strong mechanics, and a beautifully preserved satin stainless finish. This well made and well maintained Ruger revolver will make a fantastic back up gun.
