There is light operational wear and corrosion on the falling block. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Good condition.

Our Assessment: The Ruger No. 1 is a modern tribute to classic falling-block single-shot rifles, introduced to provide a rigid, one-piece action that emphasizes a direct sighting plane, precise lockup, and inherent accuracy. Ruger’s refined No. 1 action pairs elegant lines with modern machining tolerances, making it a favored platform for purposeful single-shot rifles and custom builds; this 2002 example in .308 Winchester presents as a neatly finished production piece offered complete with its original box, paperwork, gun lock, and scope rings.
Chambered in .308 Winchester — the post-World War II, NATO-standard small-bore cartridge renowned for consistent ballistics and broad component availability — this rifle is well situated for single-shot precision. The metal retains approximately 97% of its original finish with light, patchy surface corrosion noted, the bore is bright with sharp rifling (rated 10/10), and the walnut stocks present in Excellent condition with no structural defects. Included accessories and paperwork accompany the piece, and the overall presentation reflects a tidy, original No. 1 ready for final assembly or display, once the corrosion and pitting is addressed and/or repaired.
