Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the scope as mentioned above.
Our Assessment: The Ruger No. 1 is Ruger’s elegant falling-block single-shot—built for rigid lockup, an unobstructed sighting plane and inherently excellent accuracy. This 1977 No. 1 in .30-06 Springfield pairs that refined one-piece action with a short, handy 22? barrel and nicely finished checkered walnut, producing a compact, precise hunting or range rifle that’s easy to carry and quick to shoulder.
Chambered in .30-06 Springfield — a time-tested, extremely versatile cartridge with broad ammunition availability and well-proven ballistics on virtually all North American game — this rifle is well suited to deliberate, one-shot accuracy at typical hunting distances. The barreled action and stock present very well: metal finish is strong, the two-piece checkered walnut stocks are tight and in Excellent condition with only minor handling wear, and the bore is bright with sharp rifling. The quarter-rib is fitted with a K-Mart All-Pro 3–9x scope in 1″ rings; the optic’s glass is clear and the scope shows light, honest wear. Mechanically the falling-block action functions correctly, the tang safety operates as intended, and the trigger breaks crisp and clean on our mechanical check.
