Markings: The left side of the frame is marked “RUGER .44 MAGNUM CAL. / NEW MODEL SUPER BLACKHAWK”. The bottom of the barrel is marked “BEFORE USING GUN-READ WARNINGS IN INSTRUCTION MANUAL AVAILABLE FREE FROM / –RUGER, NEWPORT, NH USA”. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number “88-85379”. The rear face of the cylinder is marked with an “S”. The outside of the cylinder is marked “.44 REMINGTON MAGNUM” twice. The front of the cylinder has “379” hand scribed. The topstrap is marked “RUGER / HUNTER / SUPER BLACKHAWK”.
Barrel Length: 7 ½”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade with an orange plastic insert dovetailed to the barrel’s solid, serrated rib. The rear sight is a square notch sight adjustable for windage and elevation pinned to the top strap. The notch is outlined, but not paint-filled. The top of the barrel rib is cut for Ruger rings.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth laminate wood with silver on black Ruger medallions. There are no major defects, just light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are some draglines and light handling wear. The cylinder has a turn line that is so faint that it is nearly invisible. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, the cylinder locks up with faint side to side play. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes with a gray plastic Ruger case with a serial-matching label, paperwork including manual, and a safety lock.
Our Assessment: The Ruger Blackhawk has long been praised as one of the strongest actions ever made for a single-action revolver and this Super Blackhawk Hunter, chambered for the .44 Magnum cartridge made in 2016 is no exception. This example is a Hunter model in Excellent condition with hardly a mark, has solid mechanics, and comes in its factory Ruger case. Between the .44 magnum chambering and over nine inches of sight radius, this ought to be a heck of a shooter.
