Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked with the Ruger two line warning statement. The left side of the frame is marked “RUGER .30 CARBINE CAL” over “NEW MODEL BLACKHAWK” and the Registered stamp. The right side of the frame is marked “51-23363”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade with a red insert integral to a base fixed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a square-notched white outline leaf mounted on the top strap and is adjustable for windage and elevation.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth wood with silver-on-black Ruger medallions at their tops. The grips show scattered compressions consistent with regular handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are scattered spots of thinning in the finish, most prominently at the muzzle on the left side of the barrel and on the edges of the cylinder which has a thin turn line. There are small spots of wear on the sides of the hammer consistent with normal operation. The grip screw head is sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. Both cylinders show very little play in the lockup on all chambers. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This firearm comes with an original factory yellow and black cardboard box in Very Good condition.
Our Assessment: Ruger introduced the Blackhawk in 1955 and it took the revolver world by storm with its extremely rugged design, a frame capable of handling the hottest hand-loads and perfect for silhouette shooting or handgun hunting. In 1968, Ruger introduced the .30 Carbine chambering, probably to capitalize on the surplus M1 Carbines and .30 ammo so available at the time. Popular for it’s moderate recoil and excellent accuracy potential, this example is a “New Model” Blackhawk, incorporating a transfer bar allowing safe carry of six loaded chambers.
