Markings: Left side of the receiver is marked, “115326 / RUGER CARBINE / MAGNUM CAL”. The top of the barrel is marked with Ruger’s 2-Line warning and Southport address.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp blade, dovetailed to the integral barrel ring. The rear sight is an adjustable flip-up U-notch sight with a white diamond aiming reference, dovetailed to the barrel. The receiver is mounted with a Weaver K360-B Scope. The glass in the scope is clear. Overall, the scope rates in about Fine condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece walnut stock, with a semi-pistol grip, straight comb, rubber buttpad, sling ring front and rear, and a finger grooved forend. The stock shows handling and storage wear. There are light compression marks and scratches throughout. Most of the wear is on the buttstock. The LOP measures 13.75″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Overall, the stock rates in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light operational wear, with some thinning, a few minor hairline scratches on the barrel, and spots of oxidization throughout. The bluing is deep and dark throughout on the receiver and lighter on the barrel. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the scope as mentioned above and a sling in about excellent condition.
Our Assessment: This Ruger Model 44 Carbine presents as a solid, well-preserved example of the DeerStalker line, retaining about 98% of its original blued finish with only light operational wear and a few minor hairline scratches and spots of oxidation. The one-piece walnut stock shows light handling/storage marks but remains in Fine condition and the length of pull measures 13.75”, suitable for most shooters. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and rates 9/10, indicating very good accuracy potential. The included Weaver K360-B scope is clear and in Fine condition, and the sling is in Excellent condition. Overall this rifle rates in Fine condition.
Mechanically the action functions correctly on inspection; we did not fire the rifle but performed a mechanics check. This carbine is well suited as a capable hunting rifle or an attractive shooter/collector piece — particularly for big-game use with .44 Magnum loads. As with all previously owned firearms, we recommend a routine gunsmith inspection and a thorough cleaning before use to ensure it meets your shooting and maintenance requirements.
