Our Assessment: Ruger’s Mini-14 Ranch Rifle has earned a long-standing reputation for reliability, quick handling, and rugged field performance, and in its .300 Blackout configuration it becomes an exceptionally versatile carbine. Introduced as a modernized chambering option for suppressed shooting, close-range hunting, and tactical applications, the .300 BLK adapts extremely well to the Mini-14 platform, offering reliable cycling with both supersonic and subsonic loads while retaining the familiar ergonomics and operating system that made the Mini a classic.
This example is configured well above factory standard. The rifle is fitted with the Samson A-TM folding stock, an iconic, high-quality reproduction of the original Ruger side-folder made famous by the AC-556. Combined with the Mini-14’s compact 16.12-inch barrel, this setup makes for an exceptionally maneuverable and distinctive rifle. The stock shows only a minor cosmetic bubble in the finish beneath the forend, with no structural concerns. The metalwork is outstanding, with about 99 percent of the original bluing intact and crisp markings throughout. The bore is excellent, displaying bright, sharp rifling with zero erosion.
Topped with a Vortex Crossfire II 6–18×44 scope featuring an illuminated V-Brite reticle, the rifle is ready for precise shooting at extended distances; an uncommon but quite capable pairing on a .300 BLK Mini-14. The optic remains in excellent condition and the illuminated system functions properly, offering both low-light usability and precise aiming capability.
Mechanically, the rifle cycles correctly, locks positively, and shows no signs of abnormal wear. With its exceptional condition, premium folding stock, quality optic, and desirable .300 Blackout chambering, this Mini-14 Ranch Rifle stands out as a highly functional modern carbine with strong collector appeal due to its configuration and condition.
