Our Assessment:
The Ruger M77 Mark II modernized Ruger’s classic push-feed bolt design with user-friendly ergonomics and a stout, three-lug style action appreciated by shooters who want a simple, reliable workhorse. Chambered in .223 Remington — a flat-shooting, light-bullet standard for varminting and small-game use since the 1960s — this example is a clean, utilitarian rifle: the bore is bright with sharp rifling and the rifle shows only light handling wear. The synthetic stock and matte finish make it well suited to field use, and the included factory box adds value for a collector or transfer.
Stored in a humid environment the rifle shows some superficial oxidation and light surface wear, but mechanically it appears complete and serviceable; the lack of installed sights means the next owner can configure optics or iron sights to suit their needs without removing existing hardware. Overall, a straightforward, practical Mark II in .223 Rem that will serve well as a range gun or a no-nonsense field rifle. We are no longer offering layaway. KF
