Markings: The top of the barrel is marked with Ruger’s 2-line warning & Newport address. The left side of the barrel is marked “257 ROBERTS”. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number, and “RUGER M77 HAWKEYE”. The floorplate is marked with “RUGER”, along with the Ruger logo.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is notched for Ruger rings.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut stock, with a capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, red rubber buttpad, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows no notable wear. The checkering is well defined with sharp peaks. The finish is intact and the wood grain is attractive. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear. The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with its original serial number matching box, Ruger scope rings, cable lock, and owner’s manual/paperwork.
Our Assessment: Ruger’s M77 Hawkeye line has long been admired for its controlled-round-feed action, classic walnut-and-blued-steel aesthetics, and reliable field performance. The rifle is virtually untouched, showing deep, even bluing, sharp checkering, and excellent wood-to-metal fit, with no meaningful handling wear visible.
