Our Assessment: Ruger introduced the Blackhawk in 1955 and it took the revolver world by storm with its extremely rugged design, a frame capable of handling the hottest hand-loads and perfect for silhouette shooting or handgun hunting. When introduced in .45 LC during the early 1970s the Blackhawk was manufactured on the larger .44 frame. Many shooters asked for this chambering in the original .357-sized frame and Ruger finally answered the call! This particular specimen has the frame and flat top of the original design but all the modern advantages, like stainless steel construction, a transfer bar allowing safe carry of six loaded chambers, and interchangeable cylinders for both .45 ACP and .45 LC, making it the best of both worlds. Shooters and collectors alike will show interest in this model as it’s a limited release from Lipsey’s. Please see our photos and good luck!
