Our Assessment: The Remington Nylon 10 is a rare and often-overlooked gem within the storied Nylon rifle series, produced from 1962 to 1965. Unlike its semi-automatic siblings, the Nylon 10 was a bolt-action single-shot rifle, designed primarily as a youth trainer. With its durable brown Zytel stock and chrome-plated metalwork, this rifle epitomized Remington’s forward-thinking move into synthetic firearm construction.
Its simplicity and manual cocking bolt action made the Nylon 10 both a safe and educational rifle for new shooters. Chambered in .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle, it offers versatility in ammunition while promoting careful marksmanship with each manually loaded round.
This particular example, manufactured in 1963, is in excellent condition and shows minimal signs of use. It’s a standout collector piece due to its limited production, uncommon configuration, and preserved condition. Whether you’re assembling a Nylon series collection or just appreciate innovative American rimfire design, this Remington Nylon 10 is a must-have.
