Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked with Remington’s warning & Ilion, NY address, along with “7MM-08 REM.”. The left side of the receiver is marked with “S7608084 / REMINGTON / MODEL SEVEN”. The right side of the barrel is marked with a series of proofs.
Barrel Length: 20” Stainless
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade, dovetailed to a serrated ramp, screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a fully adjustable Lyman aperture peep sight. The barrel is mounted with a Burris 2 3/4x scope, with a duplex reticle. The glass in the scope is clear. There is no notable signs of wear on the scope. Overall, the scope rates in Excellent condition. The scope is mounted on a one-piece Ruger quarter-rib, and sits in 1” Ruger style rings. The scope comes with Butler Creek brand flip-up scope covers.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece Pachmayr textured black synthetic stock, with semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and rubber buttpad. The LOP measures 13 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light signs of wear, with only a couple of scratches on the right side of the buttstock. There are no chips or cracks. The stock fits the barreled action tightly, with no play. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows little to no wear. The markings are clear and legible. The jeweling on the bolt is crisp and vivid. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington Model Seven was Remington’s answer for a light, modern hunting rifle — a compact, shooter-oriented bolt action that paired tidy handling with accurate short-action chamberings. Chambered here in 7mm-08 Remington on a 20″ stainless barrel and fitted with a Burris 2¾× scope. This example wears some non-original parts- Pachmayr textured synthetic stock, Ruger quarter-rib scope mount, front sight, and a Lyman peep sight.
Cosmetically this rifle is excellent, retaining about 99% of its original stainless finish with crisp jeweling on the bolt and only light handling marks on the stock; the synthetic furniture is structurally sound with no chips or cracks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and rates 10/10 in this writer’s opinion, which — combined with a crisp, clean trigger and a properly functioning safety observed during our mechanics check — points to a rifle that will shoot to its capability without extensive service. The Burris scope and Butler Creek covers are in excellent condition and add immediate utility to the package.
For a buyer seeking a practical, ready-to-use hunting rifle the Seven in 7mm-08 offers an excellent balance of accuracy, portability, and reliability: compact enough for mountain or brush hunting, yet chambered in a proven, flat-shooting cartridge. Collectors will note the excellent condition of the finish, while shooters will appreciate the excellent bore, optic, and aftermarket stock.
