Our Assessment:  The Remington Model 750 Woodsmaster was introduced in the mid-2000s as the final evolution of Remington’s long-running line of semi-automatic hunting rifles that began with the Model 740 in the 1950s. Designed to deliver reliable cycling in a classic sporting package, the Model 750 combined traditional walnut and blued steel styling with updates to improve feeding and overall function. Chambered here in the hard-hitting .35 Whelen, it offered hunters serious stopping power for North American big game, including elk, moose, and bear.

This example, manufactured in December 2006, sports a 22-inch barrel with open sights and comes topped with a Nikon Buckmasters 3-9x scope mounted on a one-piece Leupold base. The glass is clear, making this a versatile package for both close-range woods hunting and longer shots in open country. The walnut stock features tasteful checkering and a Monte Carlo comb with cheekpiece, showing only light wear from use, while the blued metal retains most of its finish with only minor scattered handling marks and a touch of surface freckling. The bore remains bright with sharp rifling, ensuring excellent accuracy and ballistic performance from the powerful .35 Whelen cartridge.

Well-suited to hunters who appreciate a fast follow-up shot in a proven design, this Model 750 is both a practical big-game rifle and an appealing continuation of Remington’s semi-auto heritage. With its strong bore, quality optic, and desirable chambering, it’s a field-ready rifle that can confidently handle some of the toughest game North America has to offer.
