The receiver is mounted with a McCann Industries Modular Accessory Rail System (MARS), which provides a picatinny rail for the full length of the action plus an additional 7” rail in front of the receiver. The MARS system also provides two additional 5” picatinny rails at the 3 O’clock and 9 O’clock positions from the receiver for the addition of additional optics such as lights, lasers, etc. The top rail is mounted with a Leupold Mark 4 M1-16x scope with a duplex reticle. The scope sits in 30mm Nightforce rings.

The stock shows light wear, with some scratches on the adjustable comb, and one ding at the very front of the forend, in the barrel channel. The stock fits the barreled action tightly, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Fine to Excellent condition. There is a bipod attached to the forend of the stock.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion it rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This Rifle retains about 96% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with operational wear on the bolt and the friction portions of the action. There are a few minor scattered dings on the MARS system. Otherwise, the matte black finish is deep and dark throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a light, crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanics check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the Leupold scope, and the bipod as mentioned above. It should be noted that this rifle DOES NOT COME WITH A MAGAZINE.
Our Assessment:.The Remington Model 700 M24A2 is a purpose-built evolution of the legendary Model 700 platform, developed to meet the demanding accuracy and durability requirements of military and law-enforcement applications. Fitted with a heavy 24? bull barrel, 5R rifling and a McCann Industries MARS modular rail, this example reflects the McCann/Remington era emphasis on modularity and repeatable precision — a platform engineered to accept modern mission-specific accessories while preserving the proven 700 action. The fitted Leupold Mark 4 16x and 30mm Nightforce rings further underscore the rifle’s intent as a precision platform and give it an immediately usable long-range presence straight from the rack.
Chambered in 7.62×51 NATO (.308 Winchester), this rifle uses a time-tested military and sporting cartridge whose consistent ballistics and component availability make it a natural pairing for the heavy-barrel, long-range configuration. This example presents very cleanly, retaining approximately 96% of its original matte finish with a bright, unblemished bore that rates 10/10, and an H-S Precision PST stock showing only light wear. Note the rifle does not include a magazine, though the bottom metal accepts AICS-pattern 7.62 magazines; it does include the Leupold optic and bipod as described. Combining Remington’s proven action with modular modern ergonomics and excellent mechanical condition, this M24A2 is a stout, ready platform for serious long-range work.
