The LOP measures 13 3/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light handling and storage wear, with only a few minor superficial imperfections in the stock. The checkering is well defined with sharp peaks. The stock fits the barreled action tightly, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Blued
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows minor surface corrosion starting to form on the top of the barrel, just forward of the receiver. Otherwise, the bluing is deep and dark throughout. The jeweling on the bolt is vivid and bright. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the scope rings as mentioned above.
Our Assessment: Remington’s 700 CDL continues the company’s long tradition of building elegant, accurate hunting rifles with refined walnut stocks and deep blued metalwork. This left-handed 2007 example chambered in .30-06 Springfield is a particularly desirable configuration, offering one of America’s most versatile big-game cartridges in a true left-hand action, an option produced in far smaller numbers than standard right-handed rifles. The CDL styling cues remain immediately recognizable: satin-finished walnut with crisp checkering, a fluted comb with cheekpiece, and a clean, well-fitted fore-end. This rifle retains all of those features, presenting with minimal handling wear and strong overall finish.
The .30-06 Springfield cartridge has been a mainstay of American hunting since 1906, known for its ability to handle bullet weights ranging from light deer loads to heavier elk-class projectiles with impressive consistency. In a 24″ barrel like this one, the round achieves optimal velocity and accuracy, and the bore condition being bright, sharp, and rated 10/10, indicates the rifle was used sparingly and maintained with care. Mechanically, the action cycles smoothly with Remington’s familiar two-lug lockup, and the factory trigger breaks cleanly.
Cosmetically, the rifle retains about 98% of its original bluing, with only faint speckling of early surface oxidation near the receiver junction. The stock remains in Excellent condition with sharp checkering and tight wood-to-metal fit. Equipped with a two-piece Leupold-style base and rings, the rifle is ready to accept a scope and return to the field without additional setup.
Overall, this left-handed Model 700 CDL is a finely preserved, high-quality hunting rifle in a proven chambering, an ideal choice for southpaw shooters seeking premium handling, traditional styling, and the accuracy that made the Model 700 a benchmark for decades.
