Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number at the breech and “Remington / MODEL 700” at the midsection. The left side of the barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC. ILION, N.Y. .270 WIN.” and with an inspection mark and “CA58″ at the receiver. The right side of the barrel is marked with magnaflux, proof, and test marks at the breech. The bolt is matched to the rifle and the bottom is marked “6564”.
Barrel Length: 22″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into a serrated ramped base that is screwed to the barrel. The ramped base is slotted and has a protective hood installed. The rear sight is a “U” notch fitting that is screw secured to a slider on an elevation ramp that is screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The left rear of the barrel has a pair of drilled, tapped, and filled holes. The top of the receiver is installed with two-piece bases with integral rings that hold a Weaver Micro-Trac 3-9 power scope. The scope has some little draglines, some fine scratches, and some rubs that have lightly thinned the finish. The scope has a duplex reticle and clear glass, it rates in about Fine condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is skipline checkered wood with a fluted monte carlo comb with a cheekpiece and checkered black hard rubber buttplate. The nose and butt of the wrist are black-capped with white spacers and the buttplate also has a white spacer. There are sling swivel studs front and rear. There are some scattered light compressions and draglines. The checkering is intact and attractive. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 13 1/4” from the front of the smooth trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has some little scuffs, scratches, and nicks. The stock rates in about Fine Plus overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The bolt has operational wear from use. The trigger guard and floorplate have a few little marks through the finish. The barrel has some light rubs that have lightly thinned the finish and there are a few little nicks, these marks are mainly forward of the nose of the forend. The muzzle has thinning. The receiver has light handling wear. The markings are strong, the screw heads are sharp to lightly worn with strong slots. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction. It has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement. This 700 BDL is chambered in .270 Winchester and has a 22” barrel with iron sights.
