Markings: The top of the barrel is marked with Remington’s 2-line warning & Ilion, NY address, along with “****MODEL 541-T**** / 22 SHORT, LONG, OR LONG RIFLE”. The left side of the barrel is marked with a series of proof marks and the “CK” date code. The right side of the barrel is marked with a series of proofs. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number.
Barrel Length: 24″
Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is mounted with a two-piece Leupold style scope mount and 1″ rings for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut, with a capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, checkered plastic buttplate, and a ebony tipped forend. The LOP measures 13 3/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock shows light wear, with scattered scratches, dings, and compressions throughout. The checkering remains well defined, and the stock’s finish is largely intact, with only one spot of missing finish on the front of the wrist. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling wear, with minor imperfections, and light dings scattered throughout the metal surfaces. There is some operational wear on the bolt body. The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are lightly tooled, but retain strong and serviceable slots. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a trigger shoe installed, and the trigger has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington Model 541-T represents one of the finest bolt-action rimfire target rifles produced by Remington during the late 20th century. Introduced as part of Remington’s premium rimfire line, the 541-T was designed to bridge the gap between sporting rifles and dedicated smallbore target guns, combining a 24″ barrel, excellent factory trigger geometry, and refined walnut stock architecture. Chambered to handle .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle, the model earned a strong reputation among club competitors and precision-minded shooters for its consistency and accuracy potential.
This 1990-dated example presents in very strong overall condition, retaining approximately 98 percent of its original blued finish with only light handling marks and minor operational wear on the bolt body. The bore is excellent, remaining bright with sharp rifling, and the action functions correctly with a crisp trigger break enhanced by the installed trigger shoe. The walnut stock shows honest use with scattered handling marks, but the checkering remains well defined and the overall fit to the action is tight and correct. The ebony-tipped forend and classic Remington sporter profile give the rifle a refined, purposeful appearance that clearly reflects its intended role.
Overall, this Model 541-T stands as a desirable example of Remington’s high-quality rimfire production from the 1980s and early 1990s, a period when the company was producing some of its most respected smallbore rifles. Its strong condition, excellent bore, and original configuration make it an appealing option for collectors, target shooters, and enthusiasts of classic American rimfire design.
