Markings: The top of the receiver is marked “U.S. / REMINGTON / MODEL 1903 / 3175922”. The top of the WWII High Standard replacement barrel is marked “H S / flaming bomb / 9 – 44” and the right is marked “P”. The safety is marked “SAFE READY” and the magazine cutoff is marked “ON OFF”. The barrel band is marked “U”. The bayonet lug is marked “H”. The top of the bolt handle is marked “7”. The underside of the bolt handle is marked “K” and with faded & overstamped marks. The sling is marked “MILSCO / 1943” next to the bottom buckle.
Barrel Length: Approximately 24 Inches
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a pinned blade atop a barrel mounted base. The rear sight is a “U” notched blade attached to a fully adjustable sight ladder marked from “3-27”. When flipped up separate notches and an aperture on the ladder can be used for sighting.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece hardwood stock has a pistol grip, metal nosecap with bayonet lug, barrel band, stacking loop, 2 sling loops, 2 through bolts, and a metal buttplate with hinged door for storage. Cleaning gear is stored in the butt. The buttplate shows scrapes & oxidation. The wood shows scrapes & thin scratches. The LOP measures 13 ¼ inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original to Rebuild
Bore Condition: The muzzle and grooves are light grey. The rifling is deep. There is fouling and light intermittent erosion in the grooves and at the muzzle. The bore shows an M.E. of 2.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The metal shows several scuffs and light scrapes. The bottom metal shows a long thin scratch. The right rear of the receiver shows 2 filled screw holes. The finish in this area has been touched up. The screw heads show light use. The markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: A metal oiler is stored in the butt. One side contains a pull through thong & brush and the other side contains the dripper. It shows scrapes, small scratches and oil residue. Overall it is in about Good to Very Good condition. The rifle has a sling attached. It shows a heavy spew of fats & oils that should clean up. The leather shows light discoloration and the metal shows light oxidation. Overall it is in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition.
Our Assessment: This Remington Model 1903 was made during WWII. It has since been rebuilt and now has a High Standard replacement barrel installed. The rifle has nice deep markings on the receiver as well as on the barrel. This Remington 1903 looks great for its age and has a good bore. It will add nicely to a Military or WWII collection.
