Our Assessment: This Remington Model 1890 presents as a honest, well-used antique with clear, period-correct markings and serviceable mechanics. The metal retains roughly 25% of its original finish and shows expected thinning, scratches, nicks, and oxidization consistent with long-term use and storage; there is a visible turn line on the cylinder. The bore is mostly bright with defined rifling but exhibits moderate erosion (writer’s rating 5/10). The grips show moderate-to-heavy handling wear with a repaired crack and a chip on the right panel, so overall the revolver rates as Good for an antique of this type and age.
