Our Assessment: The Remington Model 14 1/2 is an exceptional pump-action rifle designed to accommodate larger, centerfire calibers such as the .38-40 WCF and .44-40 WCF. Built as an improvement over Remington’s earlier repeating rifles, it features a unique spiral-tubular magazine that prevents bullet tip ignition, making it one of the safest pump-action rifles of its era.
Introduced in the early 20th century, the Model 14 1/2 was designed for hunters and sportsmen who wanted a reliable, quick-handling rifle chambered for popular revolver cartridges of the time. This example remains in Very Good condition with a solid bore and smooth action, making it a great addition for collectors of classic American firearms.
Whether you’re a fan of Remington rifles, a collector of classic pump-action designs, or someone looking for a historical yet functional rifle, this Model 14 1/2 in .38-40 WCF is an excellent find. These rifles are becoming increasingly sought after, and this one would make a fine addition to any collection. Please see our High Quality photos and good luck on your bids.-C.M.
