Our Assessment: The Remington Model 700 Sendero SF represents Remington’s long-range hunting configuration built on the proven Model 700 action. Introduced to bridge the gap between traditional big-game rifles and precision-oriented heavy-barrel platforms, the Sendero SF paired a stainless fluted barrel with an H-S Precision composite stock to deliver rigidity and environmental resistance. By the early 2000s, the Sendero had developed a reputation among hunters seeking extended-range capability without stepping fully into competition-style chassis systems.

Chambered in 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum, this rifle is built around one of Remington’s high-velocity magnum cartridges designed for flat trajectory and retained downrange energy. The 7mm RUM was developed to maximize case capacity and velocity potential, making it particularly suited to open-country hunting where distance and wind performance are key considerations. The 26 inch fluted stainless barrel, fitted with a two-port muzzle brake, supports the cartridge’s velocity characteristics, while the Burris Black Diamond 6-24x optic complements the rifle’s long-range intent.

This example presents in fine overall condition, retaining nearly all of its original stainless finish with only minor handling evidence visible. The bore remains bright with sharp rifling, the bolt jeweling is vivid, and the H-S Precision stock remains clean and tightly fitted. With its quality mounted optic and overall preserved condition, this Remington 700 Sendero SF stands as a strong example of a purpose-built long-range hunting rifle from the early 2000s.
