Our Assessment: The Remington 700 M24 is a precision-built sniper platform that has served as the standard-issue sniper rifle for the U.S. Army since the late 1980s. Built around the legendary Remington 700 long-action receiver, the M24 was originally designed to accommodate both 7.62 NATO and future conversion to .300 Winchester Magnum. This rifle embodies military-grade precision with a free-floated 24-inch heavy contour barrel, a rigid H-S Precision stock with aluminum bedding block, and top-tier optics—making it a favorite for both military use and serious civilian marksmen. This example is in very good to excellent condition, retaining 97% of its finish with only minor handling marks and faint wear. It’s outfitted with a Leupold Mk4 scope on a McCann Industries MIRS mount, offering premium optical clarity and long-range capability. The bore is outstanding—bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion—indicating careful use and maintenance. The stock is clean and solid, with a factory bipod and AICS-style bottom metal for added functionality. The adjustable length of pull and recoil pad further enhance shooter fit and comfort.
For collectors of military precision rifles or long-range shooters seeking a proven, rugged sniper platform, this M24 offers exceptional performance and historical relevance. With its pedigree, excellent optics package, and clean condition, it’s ready for both the bench and the field. Whether you’re engaging steel at 1,000 yards or preserving a piece of modern military history, this rifle is as capable as it is collectible. -R.E.
