Markings: The top of the receiver is marked “U.S. / REMINGTON / MODEL 03-A3 / 4187801”. The top of the barrel is marked “R A / flaming bomb / 9- 43”. The bottom of the barrel is marked “P”. The safety is marked “SAFE READY” and has “R” on the rear and the magazine cutoff is marked “ON OFF” and “R”. The bottom of the grip is stamped with a “circled P” proof and “W”. The left side of the butt is stamped “OG” (Ogden Arsenal repair or refurbishment). The left side of the wrist is stamped “RA”, crossed cannons, and “FJA” in a box (Frank J Atwood). The right of the front sight, underside of the base of the bolt handle, right of the bolt plug, stacking loop, left of the nosecap, and front sling loop are marked “R”. There are a few other small markings on the rifle.
Barrel Length: Approximately 24 Inches
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a pinned blade set in a raised base. The rear sight is a fully adjustable aperture sight marked from “2-8” on the top and “0” with hash marks on the rear.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The hardwood stock has a straight grip, metal nose cap, stacking loop, 2 barrel bands, 2 sling loops, 2 reinforcing screws, and a metal buttplate with hinged door for storage. The stocks have some dings, some of the most noticeable are on the top of the wrist and on the left side of the stock down by the floorplate. There is a mark on the handguard in front of the rear handguard that appears to be a knot or a refurbishment. There are a few infrequent faint draglines. The LOP measures 12 ¾ inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has some tiny dings, spots of oxidation, and some finish loss on the edges. The plate rates about Very Good. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original to Refurbishment
Bore Condition: The 2 grooved bore is bright with some spots of scattered light surface erosion. The rifling is sharp. The bore shows an M.E. of about 0.5.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are some little nicks, scuffs, and a few spots of frost on the bottom metal assembly. The bolt handle has some little dings and there is some thinning, most noticeable on the knob. The receiver has some scuffs and scrapes, most notable on the left side at the chamber ring. The nosecap has some scuffs that have thinned the finish and discolored, there are also some little dings. The barrel has some little dings, scuffs, and scratches. There is some thinning on the edges of the barrel. There is standard operational wear. The screw heads show light use. The markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle comes with a military style leather sling. The leather sling has some creases, spots of patina, spots of discoloration from use, creases, and some scuffs, it rates in about Very Good condition.
