The checkering is generally sharp, aside from where interrupted. There are no chips. The grips rate in about Good overall condition and would rate higher if not for the small cracks.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is some very faint erosion near the muzzle.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 82% of its metal finish. There is thinning at the leading edges including holster wear at the front of the slide. There is some very light surface oxidation on the front strap. There are scattered light nicks and scratches. The decocker shows a faint plum hue and has some light pitting. The action shows standard operational wear. The screw head is lightly tool marked. The markings are legible. Overall, this pistol is in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The double action trigger pull is a little stiff and the single action pull is crisp. This pistol has a decocker. We did not fire this handgun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a browning leather Akah belt loop holster and one 7-round magazine with a pinky extension. The holster is marked “D.R.G.M / AKAH” with a crossed rifle and foliage motif and has several obscured markings on the inside of the top flap.

Our Assessment: This is a pre-war PPK manufactured in 1935 with the highly rare and sought after RZM marking on the left side of the slide. The Reichs Zeugmeisterei served as the quartermaster’s office of the National Socialists and later became the chief approving authority on many types of military weapons, clothing, textiles and some raw materials. It is in Very Good condition with roughly 82% original finish remaining. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and almost no erosion. This example is in high condition and would be a great addition to a Walther collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
