Sights / Optics: A2 front sight post, A2 carry handle with integral dual aperture rear sight.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a standard A2 style pistol grip. The stock is a fixed A2 style stock with a sling ring on the bottom and storage compartment. The BCG is correctly marked “C” and “MPC” signifying it is original. The forend is a rifle length clamshell handguard with the internal heat shield. The furniture shows little wear other than some light surface blemishes. All of the furniture is in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance of finish shows light wear from handling and operation. There is some light wear present with faint surface scratches mostly on the receivers. The pins are clean and unmarred. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine+ condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The safety also functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. We have cleaned this firearm and performed a mechanic’s check but expect many will want to clean the firearm again depending on their standards.

Our Assessment: A taut, accuracy-minded AR in classic Colt form: stout match-contour 20? barrel, solid-forged receiver geometry, and competition-oriented fittings that read purposeful and engineered. Controls are familiar Colt ergonomics, and the overall balance favors steady, longer range shooting from a rest.
This pre-ban designation ties the rifle to an era when builders were focusing on heavy-contour barrels and match-ready factory builds—long-barrel sporter and HBAR match rifles were a common choice for shooters chasing improved accuracy and thermal stability without sacrificing AR ergonomics. As configured, it projects an intent: precision-oriented hardware, restrained aesthetics, and a hard-working service silhouette that bridges bench-capable accuracy and field-worthy durability.
