Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked with ”MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA / — WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL—-” “WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK ” logo and “MODEL—70–300 H&H MAGNUM” The left side of the receiver is marked “WINCHESTER” ®. The right side of the chamber is marked with the serial number “434153”. The bolt is etched marked with the matching serial number. The rubber buttpad is marked “DECELERATOR”
Barrel Length: 26 Inches
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade sight fixed to the top of a serrated ramp. There is a dovetailed notch in the barrel for a rear iron sight but no sight is present. There are tapped and unfilled screw holes in the top of the receiver.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a replacement, non-Winchester one-piece checkered High-grade “Tiger-striped” Walnut with a straight comb and cheekpiece, Satin finish with a capped semi pistol grip, Rosewood tipped forearm, rubber buttpad, and two sling mounts. As a replacement however, it is a beautiful stock with exceptional wood grain. The LOP measures approximately 13 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad. There is virtually no wear or compression marks on the stock. The walnut stock is in Excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks present.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and shiny and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 90% of its metal finish. The bottom metal and the trigger guard are after-market engraved. The bolt handle knob has lost the majority of its finish. The finish is thinning along the barrel and on the top of the receiver and turning to a plum patina. The screw heads are sharp or lightly tool marked. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Fine condition as a C&R.
Mechanics: The action functions as intended. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

It is a highly desirable Pre-64 Model 70 in a caliber capable of taking any game on the planet.
