First introduced in 1936, the Model 70 combined controlled-feed reliability, excellent accuracy, and fine craftsmanship, making it a favorite of hunters worldwide. Chambered here in .30-06 it is an ideal rifle for deer, pronghorn, elk or moose. The Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 from 1958 represents a pinnacle of American rifle craftsmanship during the golden era of firearm production. Introduced in 1936, the Model 70 quickly garnered a reputation for its exceptional accuracy, reliability, and elegant design. The 1950 variant, manufactured before Winchester’s transition to cost-saving measures in 1964, retains the finest features and quality construction that made the Pre-64 Model 70 legendary among hunters, shooters and collectors.

Mechanically, the rifle functions properly with a crisp trigger and working safety. The cosmetic wear on the finish just shows this gun is a worker not a safe queen and shouldn’t dissuade any hunter from recognizing and owning one of the most iconic hunting rifles in history.  It is a highly desirable Pre-64 Model 70 in a caliber capable of taking most North American game.  Please see our high quality photos for a better understanding of condition and best of luck with your bidding!!!
