Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked with the “WINCHESTER” Trademark logo and “MODEL—70–270 WIN.” / ”MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA / WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-”, The left side of the receiver is marked “WINCHESTER / -TRADE MARK-”. The right side of the chamber is marked with the serial number “315010”. The bot is pencil etched with the matching serial number. The rubber buttpad is marked “LIMBSAVER”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade sight. There is a flip up “V” notch iron sight dovetailed to the barrel. Mounted to the top of the receiver with Talley Scope rings is a Bushnell 4-12x variable scope with a duplex reticle. The glass is clear and the sight picture is unobscured. The scope shows some signs of operational wear.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered, semi-gloss walnut finish, Monte Carlo stock, with a fluted raised comb and cheekpiece, semi pistol grip, rubber buttpad, and two sling loops. The LOP measures approximately 13 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad. There are minor compression marks on the stock. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is mildly worn. The walnut stock is in Very Good to Fine condition. There are no chips or cracks present.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and shiny and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 90% of its metal finish. The blueing on the barrel is starting to turn to a mild plum patina. The bolt handle and knob has lost the majority of its finish. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Very Good condition as a C&R.
Mechanics: The action functions as intended. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle includes the mounted scope as described above and a braided leather sling.
