Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “Perazzi.MX3” filled in gold. The right shoulder of the action is marked “P.U 61272” and the water table is marked “PSF / FINITO” with a proof mark. The trigger guard plate is marked “O/U” in front of the trigger guard. The interior of the forend bracket is marked “61272” and the interior of the forend stock is marked “1272M”. The left side of the top barrel is marked “Perazzi spa – MADE IN BRESCIA – ITALY / 12 GA 2 3/4″ CHAMBER” and the right side is marked “IMPORTER – Perazzi – USA / ROME – NEW YORK”. The left side of the top barrel just in front of the chamber is marked “SAM.70 *** 18.4” and the bottom barrel just in front of the chamber is marked “KG1 250 ** 18 1/4”. The bottom of the barrel at the chamber is marked “** / PSF / * / *FINITO / 61272” and with the date code “AL” in square indicating manufacture in 1983. Between the forend lug and the action lugs is the marking “ACCIAIO SPECIAL”.

Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a silver bead front sight set on a serrated ventilated rib.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered walnut. The forend has a crack in the bottom right which begins at the bracket and extends forward to the checkering. The forend has a few light scattered compressions with a light scratch on the left side in the smooth “V” formed by the checkering pattern and a line of flattened checkering on the left side in the middle of the checkering. The stock has a small crack extending rearward from the top tang and a series of four small but deep compressions on the right flat behind the action. The buttstock also has scattered light handling marks. There are no chips in the stocks. The LOP measures 14 3/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad. The stocks rate in about Very Good overall condition. The drop at comb is 1 3/8” and the drop at heel is 1 3/4″. The stock is cast off slightly.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows thinning of the finish and a few light compressions on the edges of the vent-rib, some light marks on the right rear side of the receiver and some light handling marks. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The ejectors pop as they should. We have not fired this shotgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a hard sided case with black leather exterior, aluminum and steel hardware, red felt interior with separate sections for the barrel and forend, receiver, and a third section for accessories. The exterior has light scuffs and residue throughout with a Perazzi sticker and a faded sticker from a Madrid, Spain shooting club on the top. The interior shows little to no wear. Overall, the case is in Fine condition.
Our Assessment: This is a Perazzi MX3 in Fine condition with a nice case for storage. Perazzi is often considered to be the Ferrari of the shotgun world. Now is your chance to own a Perazzi made competition shotgun without having to pay extra just for the name.
