Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “PL00454”, with a circled “dp” logo, “PEDERSOLI – ITALY / CAL. 45 LColt CAT. 14994” and with two Italian proof marks below. The top of the barrel is marked “Taylors & Co., / Inc. Winchester, VA”. The left side of the upper tang is marked with two Italian proofs and a boxed “CA” date code.
Barrel Length: 20” Round
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a bead dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flip up ladder sight which presents a fixed u-notch when down and a sliding u-notch leaf when up marked out 2-8.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks consist of a checkered wood two-piece forend and a buttstock with a straight grip, straight comb, and a blued carbine buttplate. There are a few faint storage marks. There is no notable handling wear. The checkering is sharp and there are no chips or cracks. The LOP is 13 1/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The buttplate shows a few faint lines. The stocks rate in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The case coloring on the receiver is strong and vibrant. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, and is very smooth, with a very short movement. The hammer has a half cock notch. The trigger is light with a tiny amount of creep. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a Pedersoli reproduction of a Colt Lightning pump-action rifle. This rifle has a round 20” barrel and is chambered in .45 Colt. The rifle is in about Excellent condition with 99% of its finish remaining. The action is very short and smooth, which means it can be operated very fast without a lot of movement in the barrel. This makes it ideal for Cowboy Action Shooting, where you must stay on target for dumps on a single target as well as staying in the same horizontal plane while traversing from left to right or right to left.
