Assessment: Christian Sharps introduced one of America’s first and most successful breech-loading rifles with design starting in 1850 and improvements continuing into the 1870s and the metallic cartridge era. This rifle is a nice reproduction of the 1874 model cartridge rifle made by Pedersoli in Italy. It is chambered for the .45-70 cartridge with a 32″ barrel and is the Deluxe model with factory engraved, coin-finished receiver. This rifle will be nice for recreational target shooting or even for hunting, though a bit heavy to carry around. Where it will really shine is in BPCR competition shooting, especially with the included Montana Vintage Arms scope. Please see our photos and good luck!
