Our Assessment: This Parker Hale model 1861 Enfield musketoon is a .577 cal. black powder percussion-lock muzzle-loaded rifle. This is a modern replica of the 19th century firearm which was imported by the Confederacy during the American Civil War. Parker-Hale’s reproduction is lauded by collectors for its quality and loyalty to the original design. They went as far as acquiring the original Enfield tooling to copy for the model’s production. This rifle is in Excellent condition, appearing to have spent more time in the included original box than out. We don’t like to say “unfired”, but there’s no evidence that this rifle has seen use since leaving Parker Hale. It is an excellent option for Civil War reenactment, recreational shooting, hunting or just to have as a collectors item and conversation piece. Please see our photos and good luck with your bid!
