Markings: The lock plate is marked with “1858” and a crown over “PH.” The top of the barrel is marked “Parker Hale Ltd. Birmingham England.” The right side of the buttstock is stamped “PARKER HALE LTD.” The barrel is also marked ” BP.”

Sights / Optics: The rear sight is a leaf sight graded from “5-10” with a notched aperture. The right side of the rear sight housing is marked “1, 2, 3, 4.” The front sight is a blade mounted on a raised boss forged into the barrel.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The rifle features a full-length walnut stock with brass furniture. The wood is in very good condition, showing slight finish loss and scratches near the lock (left side) but no cracks, chips, or notable damage. The stock retains a smooth finish with only minor handling marks. Sling loops are present on the trigger guard and front barrel band.

The brass furniture, including the trigger guard, buttplate, and nose cap, has developed a warm patina rather than a polished shine, reflecting the rifle’s vintage feel. The ramrod is in-the-white and in excellent condition. The markings are crisp and clear, and the screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. As with all black powder firearms, a thorough cleaning and inspection are recommended before use.
