There are a series of inspection marks between the locking lugs (please see photos.) The right side of the upper barrel is marked “CITORI SPECIAL STEEL 12 GA – 2 3/4″”. The receiver, guard and exposed portions of the forend iron and latch assemblies have foliate scroll engraving with a pheasant in oval on the right, duck in oval on the left and quail in oval on the bottom of the cocking lever.

Barrel Length: 32″, Ported, Vent Rib

Choke: Both Barrels are threaded for Browning Invector-Plus Extended Chokes. Currently, the top barrel has Full installed and the bottom Modified.

Sights / Optics: The front of the rib has one hole which appears to have had a bead shear off and another hole behind it which is empty. There is a small white mid-bead. The top of the rib is finely checkered for glare reduction.

Weight: 9 lb., 1.3 oz.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered Grade 2-3 walnut with finger-grooved forend, slightly flared flat-bottom pistol grip with right-side palm-swell, adjustable monte-carlo comb and black rubber Kick-Eez buttpad on a Graco Corp GraCoil recoil reducing buttplate. The stocks have a few scattered light marks, the most notable a pair of compressions on the right near the toe and another on the bottom of the grip. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering shows minor handling wear, generally sharp. The LOP measures 14 1/2″ from the front of the adjustable trigger to the back of the buttpad, 12 3/4″ to the back of the wood. The trigger is adjustable for LOP with about 1/8″ of travel available forward, 1/4″ to the rear. The installed trigger is a checkered-face curved with a neutral cast. The drop at the fixed front of the comb is approximately 1 3/4″, drop at heel 1 13/16″. The drop at the front of the adjustable comb is currently approximately 1 5/8″, 1 3/8″ at the rear. The cast is slightly off. The pad is still supple with light wear, mostly from shaping. We contacted Millers and they believe that the the adjustable comb and Graco buttplate are after-market, indicating that the stocks have been refinished. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine condition as modified and refinished.

Type of Finish: Blue & Coin

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The barrels have a few scattered light marks and light finish wear from the forend, concealed when assembled. The edges of the rib have a few scattered light nicks and scuffs. The receiver, forend iron and latch assemblies have a few scattered minor marks. The the screw and pin heads are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in about Very Good-Fine condition and would be easily Fine-plus with a new bead installed.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The safety does not engage automatically, only manually. The barrels lock to the frame with no play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a fitted hard-sided Browning carry case with locking latches (no keys included), choke wrench and a series of nylon washers (we do not know the purpose of the washers, but suspect they are for the adjustable comb or the recoil system). The exterior of the case shows minor storage wear and the interior has light wear from the contents, in about Fine overall condition.

Our Assessment: For nearly 50 years, the Citori has proven itself a more than adequate successor to the venerable Superposed. It has been offered in a dizzying array of configurations, but this is one of the least common made. Produced in 2010 as part of an exclusive run for Millers Gun Center, this is a Citori XT-AT American Trap. With 32″ ported barrels, gorgeous engraving on the coin-finished receiver and beautiful oil-finished Grade 2-3 walnut stocks, Millers has informed us that only a couple hundred of this model were made and sold as part of this limited production run. This example has been equipped with an adjustable comb and Graco GraCoil recoil system. With a new front bead installed, this will not only be a fantastic trap gun, but also a very rare and beautiful piece to show at the range. Please see our photos and good luck!
