Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “9mm Luger” with an “FBM” (Freiwilliger Beschuß Mauser) logo, also found on the left side of the frame. The top of the chamber ring is marked with the American Eagle, the right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “INTERARMS / ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA”, with the star-burst logo. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number. The top of the rear toggle is marked “Original” and with the “Mauser” banner logo. The back of the frame is marked “Made in Germany”, the left side, at the safety is marked “GESICHEHT”, the fore strap of the grip frame is marked “MAUSER-WERKE A.G. Oberndorf a.N.” The left side of the loaded chamber indicator is marked “GELADEN”. The rear spine of the magazines have Mauser’s logo, the factory box reflects the barrel length, caliber and serial number of the pistol.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp blade dovetailed into a barrel band at the front of the barrel. The rear sight is “U” notch on the back of the rear toggle.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered walnut. The checkering is sharp and without mars. The grips are in Excellent overall condition.
Type of Finish: The trigger, safety, extractor and takedown lever are straw colored, the balance of the metal finish is blued.
Finish Originality: Factory Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The grip straps have faint thinning from handling, there are tiny marks at the back of the receiver and frame from cycling, though the pistol does not have evidence of long term use outside of the factory, with proper care in the interim. Light rubbing from the safety is also seen on the left of the frame. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This pistol features a left side frame mounted thumb safety and grip safety. The action locks back after the last round is fired. This pistol looks to have seen minimal use outside of the factory and was well taken care of in the interim. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with its original Mauser Interarms two piece blue and white factory box, which has the serial number, correct barrel length and caliber reflected on the end label. The lid has tape repairs and tears at the corners, the lower tray has roughing from storage, the internal foam liner has compression, small losses and oil staining; the box is in Very Good condition. Also included are two blued magazines with black bases, an owner’s manual, takedown tool, brass cleaning rod and protective plastic wrapping, all showing minimal wear, in Excellent condition; the brass cleaning rod has natural patina. The test target is included, showing just how accurate this pistol is!
Our Assessment: From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luger_pistol “One of the first semi-automatic pistols, the Luger was designed to use a toggle-lock action, which uses a jointed arm to lock, as opposed to the slide actions of almost every other semi-automatic pistol. After a round is fired, the barrel and toggle assembly (both locked together at this point) travel rearward due to recoil. After moving roughly 13 mm (0.5 in) rearward, the toggle strikes a cam built into the frame, causing the knee joint to hinge and the toggle and breech assembly to unlock. At this point the barrel impacts the frame and stops its rearward movement, but the toggle assembly continues moving (bending the knee joint) due to momentum, extracting the spent casing from the chamber and ejecting it. The toggle and breech assembly subsequently travel forward under spring tension and the next round from the magazine is loaded into the chamber. The entire sequence occurs in a fraction of a second. “. This is a Mauser-Werke made American Eagle Luger P08 with a scarce 6” barrel, its original box, two magazines and other goodies. These pistols were made from 1970 to 1978 and are on the ATF C&R list, making this a great collector’s item, especially in its high condition. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, the metal surfaces retain about 97% of their blue and straw-colored finish and the walnut stocks are free from any notable damages. Without potentially destroying a World War One or Two P08, you could even take this one out to the range; the test target shows just how well the pistol was made.
