Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “The Marlin Firearms Corporation, NEW HAVEN CONN, U.S.A.” and patents. On the left side of the barrel is stamped “22S, L, & LR”. Under the peep sight is stamped “Marlin 20-A.”
Barrel Length: 24” Octagonal barrel.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade. The rear sight is a u-notch buckhorn sight leaf dovetailed to the barrel with riser. There is a drilled, tapped, and filled hole on top of the receiver for optic options. There is a Lyman-style peep sight attached to the upper tang.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece smooth walnut with straight grip, straight comb, crescent steel buttplate, and grooved slide handle. The LOP measures 13.25” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the buttplate. The stock rates in Excellent overall condition. There are no chips or cracks. There are some scattered compression marks and scratches scattered about the buttstock.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is distinct. There is some erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 7.5/10
Overall condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its finish. There is operational wear on the magazine tube. There is blueing loss on the edges of the octagonal barrel. The screw heads are tool marked with strong slots. The pins are unmarred. The markings are clear though a bit faint. Overall this rifle rates in Excellent condition
