Our Assessment: The Marlin Model 39 is one of the most iconic and beloved .22 caliber lever-action rifles ever produced. Descended from the original Model 1891, the 39 series has earned a reputation for accuracy, reliability, and heirloom-quality craftsmanship. This 1964-produced 39 Carbine variant features a 20” round barrel and compact receiver design that make it a fast-handling and well-balanced rifle, ideal for small game hunting, plinking, or rimfire silhouette shooting.

This example retains most of its finish, with honest wear that reflects its age and use but does not detract from functionality or appeal. The bore remains in excellent condition with sharp rifling, and the action cycles smoothly. The included Tasco 3–7x scope adds utility for precision work, while the original Marlin “bullseye” and hard rubber buttplate reinforce its classic roots. As a pre-safety, JM-marked Marlin made during the golden age of American rimfires, this 39 Carbine is a fantastic find for collectors, shooters, and Marlin fans alike.  Please see our photos and good luck on your bid! – L.S.
