Markings: The left shoulder of the barrel is marked “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / * * * * MODEL 1895M CAL. 450 MARLIN * * * *” and is marked with the “JM” proof at the receiver. The right shoulder of the barrel is marked with Marlin’s two-lined warning. The upper tang is marked with the serial number.

Barrel Length: 18″, Ported

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a booded brass beaded blade that is dovetailed to a serrated ramped riser which is screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flip-up semi-buckhorn U-notch elevator sight that is dovetailed to the barrel. Mounted to the top of the receiver is a Leupold American Marksman with 3-9x magnification and an LR Wind-Plex reticle. The scope shows faint exterior wear and the lenses are clear. The scope rates in about Fine condition.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a capped forearm, straight grip, straight comb, sling stud front and rear, Decelerator buttpad, and Marlin “bullseye” in the belly. The wood shows no major imperfections. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad. The pad shows some light discoloration and is a bit loose. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, just some minor fouling in the grooves.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is nothing to mention in the way of significant wear. The action shows faint operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly and smoothly. The lever safety is present and functions properly. The receiver also contains a push safety that blocks the hammer from hitting the pin. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
