Markings: The left shoulder of the barrel is marked “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. ILION, NY. U.S.A. / * * * * MOD. 1895CB CAL. 45/70 GOVT. * * * *”. The left rear of the barrel is marked with a proof mark. The right shoulder of the barrel is marked with Marlin’s two-lined warning. The right rear of the barrel is marked “REP” in an oval and “G”. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number and a QR code.
Barrel Length: 18.5″, Octagonal
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade with a serrated rear face that is dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a semi-buckhorn elevator sight with a reversible U/V-notch leaf that has a white diamond aim guide. The rear sight is dovetailed to the barrel. The top of the barrel is drilled, tapped, and filled in four places for mounting an optic.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with a capped forearm, straight grip, straight comb, checkered black hard rubber Marlin buttplate, and Marlin “bullseye” in the belly. There are one or two hardly notable marks in the wood. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate shows no wear worth noting. Overall, the stocks are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is some faint fouling in the grooves.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are a few minor handling marks here and there. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly and smoothly. The lever safety is present and functions properly. The receiver also contains a push safety that blocks the hammer from hitting the pin. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
