Markings: The right side of the slide is marked “STAINLESS TARGET II”. The right side of the frame is marked “KIMBER YONKERS NY USA / KF30985” behind the slide stop pin and “YONKERS NY USA” in front of the slide stop pin. The top of the barrel visible through the ejection port is marked “9MM”. The left side of the slide is marked “Kimber”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a serrated rear face and tritium insert and is dovetailed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a square-notch Bomar-style target sight adjustable for windage and elevation dovetailed to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are smooth wood panels. The grips have a few light marks and a bit of finish wear from use and storage. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Excellent condition. Also included is a pair of checkered black rubber double diamond grips in Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Stainless Steel
Finish Originality: Original. The grip safeties and slide stop are aftermarket upgrades.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion but stubborn fouling present.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 90% of its metal finish. The slide stop has been replaced with an upgraded with a non-protruding flat pin slide stop. The pistol has been installed with upgraded ambidextrous thumb safties. There are scattered scuffs, rubs, and smooth spots to the matte finish scattered throughout the surfaces. There is a takedown mark on the frame. There is standard operational wear. There is finish wear on the controls. There is operational wear. The grip screws are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide to frame fit shows barely any movement. The trigger is crisp. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.
Box & Accessories: This pistol comes in a black plastic Kimber case with serial matching label, an assortment of factory paperwork including manual, bushing wrench, the previously described grips, and a Tripp Research 10-round magazine.
Our Assessment: For 40 years, Kimber has been producing some of the finest 1911-style pistols in America and this is no exception. The Stainless Target II comes from Kimber packed with features such as front and rear slide serrations, extended beavertail grip safety, full-length stainless guide-rod, extended thumb-safety, skeletonized hammer and trigger, adjustable target sights, and of course, Kimber quality. This example is in Fine condition showing signs of typical use and comes in its original box with one 10-round magazine to get you started. This is a beautiful gun in nice condition and would make an excellent addition to any collection, but where it will really shine is in competition shooting such as single-stack division in USPSA or your local bowling pin matches.
