Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “KIMBER MFG. INC. YONKERS, NY, USA .204 RUGER VARMINT” and has a “P” at the chamber. The left of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “Kimber 84M”. The underside of the bolt handle is matched and hand inscribed “084”.

Sights / Optics: The top of the receiver has two pairs of empty drilled and tapped holes. There is no provision for iron sights.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered grade A walnut with a pistol grip, fluted straight comb, sling studs front and rear, and Kimber black rubber buttpad. There are a few light compressions and draglines. There are a few little light marks through the finish. The most noticeable marks are on the comb and left side at about the trigger. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is mostly sharp. The LOP measures approximately 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the pad. The pad has no major defects. The stock rates in Fine Plus overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The bolt has some little scuffs on the handle from use. There are a few light marks that have caused smooth spots on the barrel, mainly towards the front. The bottom metal has some light thinning, mostly on the edges. The receiver has some light handling wear. The screw heads are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This rifle has a three-position safety and a claw extractor. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: New from Kimber in 2001, the 84M Varmint is a premium varmint hunting or target shotting rifle. It combines some of the most desirable features such as a 3-position safety, controlled feed bolt, fluted stainless steel barrel, and a beautiful walnut stock. This one has some light marks but does not appear to have been shot often. Top this with your favorite optic and you have a perfect rifle for your next varmint hunt.
