Our Assessment: The Numrich Arms XLV Hawken is a faithful homage to the rugged muzzleloaders that carried mountain men, scouts, and explorers through the American frontier. Built during the 1990s, this .45 caliber percussion rifle combines traditional craftsmanship with modern black powder shooting reliability, making it a compelling piece for both reenactors and black powder hunters. The 31″ octagonal barrel, sharp rifling, and solid construction speak to the rifle’s intended utility as both a shooter and display piece.

This example showcases classic styling with its raised cheekpiece, pewter forend cap, and curved buttplate. It remains in Very Good condition with most of its original finish retained and only light wear. The bore is clean with sharp rifling, offering plenty of life for accurate range work or hunting applications. With no visible serial number, it adds an extra touch of old-world authenticity to its presentation.
