Our Assessment: This M1911A1 is a classic World War II service pistol, originally manufactured by Remington Rand in 1943 and later fitted with an Ithaca slide as part of a rebuild process at Augusta Arsenal. Arsenal-refurbished 1911A1s were standard practice post-war, ensuring continued serviceability for military use. The Parkerized finish and Augusta Arsenal markings indicate its history as part of the U.S. military’s logistical maintenance system.

The combination of a Remington Rand frame and Ithaca slide is not uncommon in arsenal-refurbished examples, as parts were mixed and matched during the rebuild process. This pistol retains a solid bore, functioning mechanics, and a strong historical presence, making it a desirable piece for collectors of U.S. military sidearms.

For enthusiasts of U.S. military firearms, this Augusta Arsenal-refurbished 1911A1 represents a great addition to a collection. Whether for historical display, range use, or appreciation of classic American service weapons, this 1911A1 remains an excellent example of wartime production and post-war maintenance.  Please see our High Quality photos and good luck on your bids.-C.M.
