Markings: The top of the right barrel is marked “CUSTOM CRAFTED FOR ITHACA BY SKB”. The top of the left barrel is marked “MODEL 100 – 12 GA-2 ¾ CHAMBER-PROOF TESTED / ITHACA GUN CO., INC., ITHACA N.Y. MADE IN JAPAN-ROTO FORGED.” The receiver is lightly scroll and border engraved. Some of the screw heads are also engraved. The left water table is marked “S 179355”. The left barrel flat is marked with “S179355” and “MOD / NP”. The right barrel flat is marked “NP / FULL”. The forend hardware is marked “179355”.

Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with an orange fiber optic sight. The top of the rib is checkered for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a push-button forend, capped pistol grip, straight comb and black plastic Ithaca -SKB buttplate. The stocks have just a few tiny nicks and pressure dents. The checkering is well-defined and sharp. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Drop at comb is approximately 1 5/8″, drop at heel is 2 ¾”. The stocks rate an Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The finish has a few scratches. The guard shows handling wear. The action has little operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates an Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrels lock up with no play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: In the late ’60s and ’70s, Ithaca, like Browning, contracted to have side-by-side shotguns made for them in Japan. Ithaca chose SKB, rather than Miroku, for their production. The result is a fine-quality double gun with graceful lines, a nice balance and light weight. The Ithaca SKB model 100 is prized by hunters, sportsmen and even competitors in Cowboy Action Shooting for its craftsmanship and durability.
This Model 100 is in Excellent condition and does not appear to have been used much. This lightweight double would be a fine companion while pursuing grouse, high on the mountain with an autumn chill in the air….
