Sights:  There is an orange fibre optic sight mounted to the front of the rib.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The Monte Carlo buttstock is select high grade walnut with checkered semi-pistol grip, Perrazi buttpad.  The forend is the same select high grade checkered walnut with finger shelf running the length. There are no chips or cracks. There are just a few scratches in the buttstock and a single ½” pressure mark in the foreend.  The gun weighs 8lb, 4.6oz.  There is no cast.  The drop at comb is 1 1/8 ”.  The drop at heel is 7/8”.  Overall the stocks rate in Excellent condition. 

Type of Finish: Blued barrels / Case Color receiver.

Finish Originality: Original 

Bore Condition:  The bores are bright.  There is no erosion.  There is some plastic fouling at the forcing cones.  In the opinion of this writer, the bores rate a 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun receiver retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are a couple of scratches in the blueing, mostly associated with (and behind) the forearm and its removal.  There is very light operation wear.  The pins are unmarred. Overall, this shotgun is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly.  We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Perazzi sounds like a high end sports car, and in the gun world it is.  They are known for offering high levels of customization, and a lightweight and elegant design.  They are mentioned in the same reverent tones as Krieghoff.

Serious shotgun competitors will often travel to Italy to be measured for their own custom Perrazi.  Such is the level of respect they garner. A note of caution, though:  if you are missing clays with a Perazzi, you will have a very hard time blaming the gun!

The MX-8 is a high-end competition trap gun that was imported by Ithaca in the late 1960s and early 1970s.  It features a detachable trigger group and a low-profile action for trap shooting.
