Markings: The tang is marked “SH18423”. The bottom of the barrel is marked “SH18423 DP PEDERSOLI CAL. 45-90 / MADE IN ITALY CAT. 8127 / BLACK POWDER CARTRIDGE ONLY / CIMARRON / FREDERICKSBURG TX” The receiver is stamped with several proofs including the date code.
Barrel Length: 32” “Light” Octagon Barrel. The rifle weighs 10 lbs 14 oz.
Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with a silver blade front sight. The rear sight is a flip-up ladder marked from 2-8 with a semi-buckhorn small notch sight when the ladder is folded down. Both front and rear sights are dovetailed into the barrel. This rifle also includes a tang mounted, windage adjustable, mid range staff, Vernier style micrometer rear sight with small eye disc.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two piece checkered walnut. The buttstock is a checkered straight hand with straight comb and has a case colored smooth butt plate. The handguard is a checkered, tapered forend with a German silver cap. The LOP measures 14? from the front trigger to the back of the butt plate. The wood shows scattered surface level lines and a few small compressions. There are no chips or cracks. The butt plate shows some surface rust freckling. The tip shows some surface rust freckling and some fine lines. Overall the furniture set is in Very Good+ condition.
Type of Finish: The barrel is blued and the receiver, lever, butt plate and hammer are color case hardened.
Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion. If this rifle has been fired outside of factory testing it was very little. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The barrel shows a few very minor nicks and some discoloration/oxidation from storage. The barrel also shows some surface rust freckling scattered throughout. The two upper tang screws both show rust in their edges. The lower tang has a small rub mark from the lever. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are clear. Overall this rifle is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: This rifle has double set triggers, which function correctly. The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
