Our Assessment: This Italian-made Armitalia di Lucchini Model 810-10 is a rare and well-built over/under shotgun, chambered for the powerful 10-gauge 3.5” magnum shell. Manufactured in 1974 and imported by Richland Arms Co., this shotgun is C&R eligible and represents a unique blend of traditional Italian shotgun craftsmanship with the heavy-duty utility required for waterfowl or turkey hunting. The long 31.5” vent-rib barrels provide excellent sighting and swing, and the fixed chokes (measuring 18.9mm top / 18.7mm bottom) indicate tight constriction suitable for long-range shot patterns. The shotgun is in very good overall condition, retaining approximately 92% of its original blued finish with only minor handling marks and light operational wear. The bores are excellent—very bright with no erosion, earning a 9.75/10 in this writer’s opinion. The checkered wood stock and forend show honest use with small dents and marks but remain free of cracks or chips. The neutral cast and 12.75” length of pull suggest it could be comfortably adapted to various shooters. Notably, the lifter mechanism is functional, and while the safety/selector does not automatically engage, it performs properly when set manually.
With its tight lockup, solid mechanics, and smooth operation, this shotgun is both a collector’s piece and a capable field gun. It even includes its original box and dual-trigger parts, making it a strong candidate for either use or preservation. For enthusiasts of vintage European doubles or those seeking a distinctive 10-gauge over/under, this Armitalia Lucchini is a rare and well-preserved example. -R.E.
