Receiver Leg: “D6522891-D” and “TE / 7-65” (electric pencil)– Correct for a 1953 International Harvester M1 Garand (page 30). The “TE / 7-65” marking is a July, 1965 Tooele Army Depot Rebuild mark.
Op Rod: “D-635382 IHC” – An International Harvester part (page 72).
Bolt: “D28287-19SA / C-14A”- A Springfield part (page 53).
Barrel: “SA 6535448 12 64 T67”, “M”, “P” and with a Defense “Eagle” Acceptance stamp – A Springfield part (page 63).
The stock and sights are described below.
Barrel Length: Approximately 24 Inches
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade set between two protective wings. The rear sight is a fully adjustable aperture sight. The windage knob is marked “LEFT arrow” twice and “DRC”. The elevation knob is marked from “2-12” in increments of two and “NI C”.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The bottom of the grip is marked with “circled P” proof. The left side of the stock above the trigger is with a Defense “Eagle” acceptance stamp (page 129-130).
The oil stained hardwood stock has a pistol grip, metal nosecaps, stacking loop, two sling loops, and a metal buttplate with hinged door for storage in the buttstock. The buttplate shows scrapes & scratches as well as cosmoline that will clean up. The stock has excess cosmoline on the stock hardware and under the trigger group. The wood shows several scrapes, scratches, and compression marks which have been oiled over. Many have damaged small portions of the surface wood. The LOP measures 13 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good Plus overall condition.

Bore Condition: The lands are bright, the grooves are semi bright, and the rifling is sharp. There is fouling in the grooves near the muzzle and next to the gas port. It should clean up some. There is no visible erosion. The bore has an M.E. of 0.3. The throat has a T.E. of 1.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. The metal shows scuffs, scrapes, and light thinning on the leading edges of the metal. The gas tube also shows scratches. The op rod shows areas of thinning under the wood. The receiver legs show light scrapes & some light thinning under the wood. The markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle comes in a green hard plastic case that is marked on both sides with “stars & stripes”, “CMP / www.theCMP.org”, the CMP seal “stars / eagle holding arrows”, and with other information. The interior of the case has foam pieces that show a few small tears, compression, and light soiling from use. The case has 4 latches and 3 reinforced locking holes. The case shows scrapes, some small scratches, and a few small areas of discoloration. It is in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition. The rifle comes with a “Certificate of Authenticity” from the “CIVILIAN MARKSMANSHIP PROGRAM”. It lists the rifle’s serial number. It also lists the model as an “M1 Garand IHCS”. It is in about Excellent condition. The rifle comes with an M1 Garand owner’s manual. It is in about Excellent condition.
