Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed blade. The rear sight is a ladder adjustable to 2400 meters with both notch and peep options, correct to the original A4 configuration.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The gun is configured as a tripod-mounted ground gun (tripod included), A4 pattern, with original-style grips. The top cover, sideplate, shroud, and feed assembly all show excellent fit and finish, with only light evidence of handling.

Type of Finish: Parkerized

Finish Originality: Original to semi-auto build

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is frosting filling the grooves near the muzzle. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 8.5/10.

Overall Condition: This M1919A4 retains about 98% of its parkerized finish. The markings are sharp and the rivets and small parts are clean. The finish shows only faint handling marks and minimal operation wear. This firearm is a legal semi-automatic only build. It is equipped with spade-button triggers for standard semi-auto operation and is also fitted with a hand-crank system that mechanically actuates the trigger. The crank allows the operator to rotate the handle to depress the trigger in rapid succession. It remains semi-automatic in operation, firing one round per trigger pull, but adds a unique and entertaining element for range use. This is an excellent example in both appearance and condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly in semi-automatic operation. The spade-button trigger assembly works properly and the hand-crank engages and actuates the trigger as intended. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Accessories: The included accessories are the mounted hand-crank trigger assembly, one tripod,  and T&E provided.

Our Assessment: The Browning M1919A4 is one of the most iconic American belt-fed weapons of the 20th century, serving from WWII through Korea and into Vietnam. Semi-automatic reproductions such as this one, built on new sideplates by Ice House Manufacturing, allow collectors and shooters to own a legal example that preserves the original look and feel without requiring NFA paperwork.

This particular gun offers more than just display value. In addition to its correct A4 configuration and excellent parkerized finish, it is fitted with both spade-button triggers and a hand-crank fire control system. The crank brings a uniquely interactive dimension to the shooting experience, while still remaining semi-automatic, making it as fun to operate as it is faithful to the wartime pattern. The bore is strong, the finish rates high, and the mechanics are sound.

For the collector who values history but also wants to bring their piece to the range, this Ice House 1919A4 represents the perfect balance. It is visually impressive, mechanically reliable, and outfitted for a far more engaging shooting session than most pristine safe-queen examples. So bid high and bid firm. I highly encourage you to look at the item’s condition in our high-quality photos. Good luck with your bid. -K.F.
